Experience the magic of a Central Otago winter with Cheeky Kiwi's Epic Snow Day Tour — the perfect option for those who want to enjoy the snow without the need to ski or snowboard. Designed with families, couples and relaxed travellers in mind, this scenic day trip from Queenstown is all about fun, flexibility and unforgettable alpine views.

Your journey begins as you depart Queenstown and climb the spectacular Crown Range — the highest sealed road in New Zealand. At the summit, stop to take in sweeping alpine vistas and capture some incredible photos before descending into the Cardrona Valley.

The adventure continues to Snow Farm, your winter playground for the day, where you'll have nearly two hours to enjoy the snow at your own pace. Build a snowman, throw a snowball, make snow angels or simply soak up the stunning alpine surroundings. With wide open spaces and a relaxed atmosphere, it's the perfect place to experience snow without the crowds or pressure of a ski field. Equipment hire such as snow boots or toboggans can be arranged locally if you'd like to make the most of your time in the snow.

From Snow Farm, head to the iconic Cardrona Hotel — one of New Zealand's most historic pubs — for a relaxed lunch (not included in price) with a true slice of Kiwi charm. It's the perfect spot to warm up, refuel and swap stories from the morning.

The afternoon takes you to Lake Wānaka, where you'll have time to snap a photo of the world-famous Wānaka Tree before a stroll along the lakefront and time to explore the town centre at your leisure.

On the return to Queenstown, stop in at the charming Cromwell Heritage Precinct — a beautifully preserved gold rush-era village now home to boutique shops, galleries and local producers. It's a lovely way to round out the day before the scenic drive back to Queenstown via the Gibston Valley Wine Region, arriving around 5:30pm.

This tour is ideal for anyone wanting to experience the beauty of a Central Otago winter in a fun, easy-going way — no ski pass, no stress, just great scenery, fresh alpine air and plenty of time to make memories in the snow.
