Please note: We do not provide accommodation on the hike, this must be booked before you book your transport. To complete the Routeburn Hike you must book your accommodation through DOC in advance to stay in the DOC huts. These spaces sell out in a flash so don't delay and make sure your accommodation is booked in advance.

Depart: 

Drive your own car from Queenstown (or anywhere, for that matter) to the Routeburn Shelter. Car relocations require a start no later than 1 pm and finish after 1 pm.

Return: 

Upon finishing the Routeburn Track, you’ll find your car ready and waiting for you at The Divide (after 1 pm). From there, you can make your way to the next stop on your Aotearoa itinerary.

Additional information:

There is a flat fee for each car that is relocated including a $40 fuel top-up fee (We add $40 fuel to your car during the transfer to ensure you have enough fuel to get where you are going). The number of cars to be transferred must be selected and added to the booking in the extras section of the booking process. If a car is not added the booking will only include your water taxi tickets without the car relocation service.

This is the 3-day car relocation service for hikers completing the hike within the most common time frame. If you would like your car relocated within 1 or 2 days please contact us directly to make arrangements.
