There is so much to see and learn along the way from Queenstown to the Milford Track. By ensuring you are on a fully guided small-group tour, not just a shuttle bus, you'll enjoy everything this amazing part of the world has to offer. Please note: We do not provide accommodation on the hike, this must be booked before you book your transport. To complete the Milford Track you must book your accommodation through DOC in advance to stay in the DOC huts. These spaces sell out in a flash so don't delay and make sure your accommodation is booked in advance.

Itinerary:

Departing:

Board your minibus transport, departing Queenstown at 10.30 am.  Enjoy expert commentary and a number of carefully planned stops, before boarding your water taxi from Te Anau Downs at 2 pm. 

1.      Queenstown - Your tour starts in the stunning city of Queenstown. As we drive out of the city your guide will not only set the scene for your adventure today but also point out and guide you past some of the area’s top highlights.

2.      Lake Wakatipu – Departing Queenstown we wind our way around Lake Wakatipu, with amazing views of ‘The Remarkables’ Mountain Range and the lake, stopping for photos is a must.

3.      Devil's Staircase – Continuing around the lake we will pass through Devil’s Staircase. This elevated windy part of the road is famous for dramatic photos and setting the scene for the day to come.

4.      Lake Te Anau – After more amazing mountain, river and farmland views we arrive in Te Anau, home to Lake Te Anau, New Zealand’s second-largest lake. While in this idyllic town we will stop for a break and maybe meet some of the local animals or wildlife. Continuing along the lake we stop at Te Anau Downs, the starting point for your impending tramp.

Board your water taxi from Te Anau Downs at 2 pm.  Disembark at Glade Wharf to begin your Milford Track adventure - enjoy being the first people on the track!

Return:

Hop on your return water taxi, departing Sandfly Point between 12 and 2 pm, before boarding your scenic flight back to Queenstown.  This incredible experience is the perfect bird's eye view of Fiordland National Park, and just the reward you deserve after completing this tramp.Please note that you will have to meet the plane on the airstrip in Milford and you will have to find your way there as we cannot offer transport between the water taxi and the airport.

All scenic flights are weather dependent.  Should your flight be cancelled, you will be transported back to Queenstown via minibus and the price difference between the flight and bus service will be refunded.
